The blood vessels in your legs, calves and feet are the furthest extremities from your heart and the hardest area in your body to maintain healthy circulation.

When your legs lack adequate circulation, you can experience swelling and aching legs, leg cramps or leg fatigue. In addition to the uncomfortable symptoms, poor leg circulation can also cause your legs to take on an undesirable, swollen appearance which can make them look years older than you really are.

In time, poor leg circulation leads to spider or varicose veins, which are veins that have become damaged from poor circulation. Spider and varicose veins usually occur in the lower legs and feet. Varicose veins can appear beneath the surface of your skin, while spider veins will look more like webbing across the surface of your skin.

Leg fatigue, swelling, leg cramps, spider and varicose veins can occur to anyone but are more problematic for women. Your job can also be a contributing factor to circulation problems. Job functions that require long periods of standing or sitting, or those that require heavy lifting can place considerable stress upon your legs, feet and veins. Excess weight can further add to your circulation problems, often causing leg circulation problems at an earlier age.

Exercise regularly to improve circulation and prevent blood from pooling in lower legs. Suggested sports are walking, running, cycling and swimming. 2. If you must sit for long periods of time, a footstool under your desk will take the weight off the thighs and the back of the knees, causing circulation to improve. Also, if you sit most of the day, try to change positions while sitting and be sure to get up and walk around every 30 minutes. 3. Wear compression hosiery or boots to stimulate circulation.

4. Raise your legs as often as possible and do not cross your legs when sitting down. 5. Do not wear tight shoes and, in the daytime, avoid high-heeled shoes if possible. Also, clothing should not be restrictive: try to avoid tight pants and belts.

6. Watch your weight! Every extra pound puts additional pressure on the circulation. 7. Stop Smoking. Nicotine in tobacco products constricts the blood vessels in the legs, causing them to narrow and interfering with circulation. 8. Your diet should be rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. Add bitter vegetables and salads such as artichokes, chicory and endives to your diet--your liver and circulatory system will thank you for it. And don't forget to drink lots of water. 9. Avoid extreme heat and taking hot baths. Visits to the sauna are possible if you keep your legs constantly raised while you are in the sweat room. 10. When sleeping the blood flow will be relieved if the legs are raised higher than the heart so try to keep your feet elevated.

Directions Adults, take two (2) capsules daily, as a dietary supplement.
